The first few times, I had to have someone help by holding the braid while I gathered up more hair, but now I can do it on my own.

Since my hair is so long, if I want to french braid only part of it I separate out the hair I'm leaving down, gather it in a ponytail holder to keep from accidentally grabbing on to it and pull it around to the front so that the ends aren't tangling with the section I'm working on.

well no matter how many times you practice your arms wil still et tired do hold your hair with one arm and rest the other once in a while other than that you just have to practice alot
