3 ideas(I am a cosmetologist and I am experienced in updos)

1.take a bit of putty and distribute it throughout your hair while it is slightly damp, then section off 5 parts - crown, 2- front , 2- back,. twist each till it wraps around itself leaving out 2-3 inches at the end pin and allow to dry. then remove pins and shake it loose with a cool set blowdryer. this will result in a nice tosseled effect. spray lightly with hairspray.( practice it 1st)

2. scrunch dry with a bit of the putty, then take a section from the corners of your forehead back to the mid of the top of your head twist and pin, repeat this technique with each side pinning near the 1st section.Fluff everything to your liking then spray. That can complete the look for a half updo.

3. the easiest is to twist as if putting into a french twist but leave the hair coming out of the top of the twist and pin into place.then spray to secure.

This is a really cut updo, do 2 french braids on each side of your head halfway back until you get to your crown, Hold them back seperately with rubber bands. bobby pin the back in kinda twists up where you stoped the braids so all the pieces are sticking out in a whispy sort of way. Adjust until you get them to stay up the way you want it too. Lightly spritz with hairspray.
