Short back and sides. I do mine myself sometimes its not to hard it just takes a while longer.

Firstly go to your local hairdresser's and ask what cut would suit you. Maybe ask to see a photo of it. Or hunt around on websites (there are some REALLY incredibly nice haircuts out there for women and men), and print a photo out to show them.

Then all you'll need is a comb, shampoo, and conditioner. =]

It depends on your hair, what do you want to do to it? Do you want to moisturize it, do you want it to smell good? I would suggest just going to a Wal-Greens or Wal-Mart and just look in the hair care section and see what appeals to you.
